But Wait...? - Rev. Terry McGuire

When preparing for the message today I remember the infomercial's that always tout But wait there’s more. It is always something that you need, you can’t live without, and it’s only going to cost you just this/so much! But wait there’s more, if you act now you also receive/get blah blah blah.

However when we look at the Scriptures we find that indeed there is more. There is always more and always leading us to Jesus Christ and showing us how we are to be Glorifying God the Father. How we can repent and ask for forgiveness of our sins and receive Salvation and have eternal life. But wait there is more!

We are to life a life worthy of our Calling; we are to grow in our relationship with God. Because of Christ’s redeeming work on the Cross-we can now be in relationship with God once again, just as HE had intended it to be from the beginning. We can boldly come to God with our requests and our petitions for each other and ourselves. We must always seek HIS will, for us, in us, and through us.

When we take the time to read the Scriptures HE will guide each of us into and through the Word that we need, to clarify, edify or to teach us amazing lessons for ourselves or to help in reaching the lost among us that bring them to HIM. God can use us, but we cannot use God. We must acknowledge our insufficiencies and inabilities to do anything without HIM. The more we grow in our relationship with God the more HE will use us and the more we come to understand HIM and HIS expectations for ALL HIS CHILDREN. Then we can help others around us in greater need than even we sometimes realize on our own.

To be able to reach the lost and bring them to God is an amazing wonderful gift that only God can give to us. Because HE first LOVED us we are to return that LOVE to HIM and to Each Other. God wants for ALL to be SAVED. We each have a story to tell that will help reach that one little lost soul, do you not know that ours it to be LIVINGSTONES reaching out in Christ on the foundation HE laid himself and building on it to reach those who have never heard that they too are LOVED or could be LOVED. Because of Christ we are ALL invited to the wedding banquet, we are all invited to the feet of Jesus. Just like the wheat and the weeds or the sheep and the goats. It is Gods job to do the sorting – Not ours, so many of us get into the sorting business instead of the hosting business and do the inviting.

Invite someone to come worship/fellowship with you and your friends and let God do the work HE has set out to do for them. When we put our trust in God he will not let us down, HE doesn’t want us to fail or HIS purpose to fail - won’t happen. When you get discouraged go back to your Bible and re-read the Scriptures. HE is always there in the LIVING WORD. Let HIM guide, teach and reach you there.
